Ahnenpass - Ancestors Passport

THE OFFICIAL DOCUMENT WHICH WAS NEEDED IN HITLER GERMANY TO PROVE THE PURE ARYAN BLOOD LINES!

If somebody applied for an official position or wanted to become an officer in the Wehrmacht, Navy or Luftwaffe it was mandatory to prove a pure Aryan blood line.
Applicants for the SS of course had to do it, too. Also if you wanted to become a member of the NSDAP you had to prove your Aryan ancestry.

The "Ahnenpass" ancestors passport was either a softcover document of 48 pages or a hard cover booklet with usually also 48 pages. There was an even more rare hard cover with 82 pages which had a fold-out ancestry chart (Ahnentafel) in the back.

All entries in these documents had to be notarized either from the church registrar or the municipal office. There were two different kinds of family tree documents in the Third Reich. The first one is the Stammbuch which is a more simple family tree document.
